A Short Walk to War Memorials
A very peaceful walk in a light mist on a very quiet section of the trail took me to Yorktown Heights. There is a lot of American History in this area and I came across several war memorials honoring many of the fallen. A fabulous monument to the Battle of Pine Bridge sits in the middle of Yorktown and represents one of the very first battles of the Revolutionary War. Lots of scenery along the way, dear tracks in the snow,
and our great flag flying at half mast in honor of the half million lives lost to Covid. It was an interesting 3.8 miles and tomorrow's challenge is 6 miles more to the Putnam County border. I'm looking forward to 50 degree weather! MELT SNOW MELT!
