Some Very Tough Sledding!!
We managed to cover 7.5 miles from the Bronx to the top of the city of Yonkers in Westchester County. Much of the walk was in 18 inches of snow and made for some difficult traction. Many thanks to Chris in Van Cortland Park who got me squared away on the right track - otherwise I'd still be walking in circles. Saw a few Bronx ducks and a golf course I played with the IBM guys years ago. In Tibbet's Park I had the pleasure of walking a few miles with my niece Kelly and two of my nephews, Patrick and Franky. Ronan joined me for the tougher part of the walk and we met Scott who looked like he was in way too good shape and very underdressed! After the last few miles of stepping in deep snow, we finished up at a very nice Italian restaurant. They had the best lentil soup I've ever had. Tomorrow I'm breaking out the snowshoes and hopefully making it 7 more miles to Elmsford. Cheers - keep those donations coming!
